My friend, it is such a joy to share with you today’s promise, taken from Psalm 25:9 which says, “He (God) guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.” What a beautiful promise! Today, even though you might be walking on a difficult path, I would encourage you to believe in this promise of God and receive it in your life.
It is a natural instinct when situations are against us, our heart cannot take it and we only want to give back something bad in return. We also tend to rush into decisions which are not good for us. But God says, ‘He guides the humble.’ So, even in tough situations, humble yourself into the hand of God, instead of doing anything harshly and impulsively. God is going to give you that grace, right now. When you thus humble yourself before the Lord, He will teach you the right thing to do and His Ways. Only the humble will be able to hear His guidance. The proud do things in the human or the fleshly way. And that’s why I Peter 5:6 instructs us to: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.” When you thus humble yourself in the mighty hand of God, He will lift you up in due time.
There was a refugee from Hungary, a lawyer, who came to the US escaping from a war that was happening in his hometown. He was looking for a job in the US. So, he applied to an imported Sports Company. But they wrote back to him saying that his English was so bad and hence he is not qualified for the job. When he saw this remark from the Company, he was so angered and started to write them a letter saying “how dare you criticise my English as I am a top lawyer, proficient in many languages.” But as he was penning down all those mean words, he remembered the Word from Proverbs which says “A soft answer turns away wrath.” He calmed down and out of the little peace he had, he wrote back to the Company saying “I thank you for correcting me and mentioning that I need to develop my English. I will do so.” Amazingly, he was called for an interview and he secured that job. They saw his humility and he became the Vice President of that firm. Yes, the Lord always guides the humble into doing what is right and honours them. Ask God for this grace, today.
Prayer:
Loving Lord, thank You for speaking to me through Your Word. You are a God who loves the humble in heart. Lord, I humbly submit my life, my dreams and my ambitions into Your mighty hands. Lord, I pray that You will fill me with the humility that is found in you and make me pleasing before You. Not my will, Lord, but let Yours be done. Lord, I pray that You will guide me into doing what is right and deliver me. Thank You, Lord, for You are going to lift me up in due time and honour me for glory, honour and power is in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
