God the Father sent His beloved son Jesus Christ to this planet earth as the Savior of the world who could wash the sins of mankind. Jesus Christ bore all the pain and suffering that came upon His body in order to deliver us from all our sins, curses and problems. The one, who knows our suffering, knows to deliver us too, wouldn’t He?
A mother broke out in tears as she called me over the telephone, asking me to pray for her son who was unwell for a long period of time. I urged her to trust in the Lord who heals His children. I told her “If you believe, you will see the glory of God” (John 11:40) and further explained to her the splendour of the Lord “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (Rev 23:13). I also continued to encourage her saying that our Lord knows us from our beginning to our end and so He will surely deliver us. Despite of me pointing out the miracles and wonders that our Lord is able to do, the mother continued to lament about her son’s illness not heeding the word of God. She never allowed the word of God to work in her heart.
Dearly beloved, unlike this mother, we need to hear the word of God and receive it in our hearts and imply it in our lives with a strong faith in God. Bible says, “The Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him” (Deuteronomy 4:7). He is not only the God of the past; He is our God and the God for all generations that are yet to come. And so, when we hold on to God who is the Alpha and the Omega, and heed His word, we will receive healing and deliverance. The word of God is full of life. It is His word that can deliver you out of your sickness and trouble.
Prayer:
Lord, you are the Alpha and the Omega! You alone know me even before I was conceived in my mother’s womb. Thank you Jesus for taking the form of man and sacrificing yourself for my transgressions! It is through Your stripes, I am healed. Lord I believe in you and so I will surely see Your glory. I commit my ways into Your mighty hands. Take me and mould me in the way You desire. Make me a vessel which is useful for Your kingdom. Bless this day and help me to make use of the time diligently. I ask all this in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.
