Gaining Strength in Our Bones

My friend, today’s promise is taken from Isaiah 66:14 where the Bible says, “When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the Lord will be made known to His servants.” - Then you will know that the hand of God is upon you. Your heart will rejoice! 

I love it in the Tamil Bible as it says, ‘Your bone will flourish like the grass.’ Yes, when you hear sudden bad news or go through tough situations of loss, you feel like your bones are becoming weak. Sometimes, when such shock and fear overwhelm you, you might not even have the strength to stand up. Perhaps you are in such a painful situation, my friend. But this verse and the verses prior to it say that when you see the Lord comforting you as a mother comfort her child, your heart will rejoice and you will know that the hand of God is upon you. How will God comfort you? If you read Isaiah 66:12, the Lord will make you lie in the midst of peace and where the riches of the nation will be brought to you. That’s how He will comfort you! 

When Jacob was pushed out of his house, he had nothing in his hands. He had to leave anyway fearing for his life. Jacob who once lived in comfort and riches, came to the streets in a single moment. He had a great shock in his life and became so afraid. But the Lord met him in that vulnerable state and comforted him with a vision. He promised Jacob that He will lift him up. From that moment, God added all the riches in his life and brought him to a place of peace in the midst of fear. That’s how God will comfort you too. Today, are you saying, “Lord everything has been stripped away from me in one moment. I am afraid!” The Lord has heard your cries and has seen your tears. He will comfort you in the midst of your fears and pain. Your bones will be strengthened and you will flourish like green grass! 

PRAYER: Precious Lord, thank You for encouraging me through Your promise. Lay Your hand upon me and comfort me. Lord, surround me with Your love and bless me with Your joyous presence. Lord, even as I pray, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and let peace and joy flow like a river into my life. Let my bones be strengthened and become prosperous like green grass. Lord, help me to rise up and see what great blessings Your comfort can bring into my life. Lord, as You have promised me today, add all Your riches and Your peaceful way into my life. I believe that You will make my heart rejoice in You one more time.
